The Assistant Yoga Therapist is a certified support professional who works under the supervision of a certified physician or certified Yoga Therapist and Yoga Consultant. The role focuses on assisting in the delivery of yoga therapy for specific disorders, including preparing therapeutic sessions, monitoring patient vital parameters, and maintaining records.

Eligibility

For open candidates there is no eligibility criteria; 10+2 pass. No age limit.

Apply the guiding principles, roles, responsibilities and limitations of a Yoga therapy assistant
Measure and record vital parameters such as blood pressure, respiratory rate, pulse rate and body temperature
Demonstrate Shatkarma cleansing practices, Sukshma and Sthula Vyayama under supervision
Perform and assist with standing, sitting, prone and supine Yogasanas
Demonstrate Pranayama, Bandha, Mudra and practices leading to meditation
Describe basic human anatomy and physiology of major body systems relevant to therapy
Relate yogic principles of Ahara-Vihara-Achar-Vichar and allied sciences such as Ayurveda and Naturopathy to holistic well-being
Maintain patient records, feedback forms and interpersonal relationships with therapists and patients
Apply first aid, infection control and personal protective equipment (PPE) procedures in a therapeutic setting

UNIT 1 — Basic Principles of Yoga Therapy

  • 1.1Concept of Yoga: Its Definition, Aim, Objectives and Misconception.
  • 1.2Significance of Hatha Yoga Practices- Shatkriyas, Yogasana, Pranayama, Mudra and Bandha and Dhyana.
  • 1.3Guiding Principles to be followed by Yoga Therapy Assistant.
  • 1.4Roles and Responsibilities of Yoga therapy Assistant.
  • 1.5Scope and limitations of Yoga therapy Assistant.
  • 1.6Knowledge of vital parameters to assess general state of patients: Measurement of Blood Pressure, Respiratory Rate, Pulse Rate and Body Temperature.
  • 1.7Knowledge of use of props: ropes/belt/cushions/special aids.

UNIT 2 — Yoga Therapy in Traditional Yoga Texts

How are the classes conducted?

Classes are live online and every session is recorded. If you miss a class you can watch the recording anytime and stay on track.

When do new batches start?

New batches open every month. You can book your seat for an upcoming batch and begin with the next cohort.

Is attendance required to be certified?

Yes — a minimum of 80% attendance is required to be eligible for certification, so please attend the live classes regularly. Recordings help you catch up on a missed session, but do not count towards attendance.

What certificate will I receive?

You receive a Yoga Certification Board (YCB, Ministry of Ayush) aligned certification, issued through a YCB-approved institute — recognised for teaching and further studies in yoga.

What is the refund policy?

Once your course has started, the fee is non-refundable. Instead of refunds we offer flexibility: if you can't continue for a while you can pause and resume with a later batch, and you can change your batch to a timing that suits you better. Just reach out to our team and we'll help you adjust.

Can I pause the course or change my batch?

Yes. If something comes up, you can pause and rejoin a later batch, or switch to a different batch or timing — just contact our team. There is no penalty for pausing or changing your batch.
